Our two Dark Brahma girls (Mel and Kim.....yep, I named these , not the kids!) are only teenagers, and are awaiting the arrival of "hubby" early in January 2009...who has just arrived!
Daniel Dawson is still a baby himself but has been accepted by the girls and all are happily living and roaming together.
2 days ago, one of the girls laid an egg (their first!) so as soon as Daniel works out how to jump his girls bones, then hopefully we will have baby brahmas on the way!
Our Brahma are wonderfully docile birds, who always appear to be "hanging" out together (or hanging out with Gavin and his girls) and never seem in a rush to do anything. Brahma's, when mature, are giants! The maturity though can take upto 2 years.
Brahma's are HUGE. They lay great sized eggs and are are probably the most "kid" tolerant birds here at Power Poultry.
At some stage next year we will have fertile hatching eggs and young stock available.
